TEMPOROMANDIBULAR DISORDER THERAPY
We deal with issues related to muscular and joint disorders.
Mandibular disorders (TMD) are musculoskeletal conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the masticatory muscles.
This is a very common disorder in the population that can become disabling, and it is the main cause of facial pain not caused by teeth.
Patients with TMD may experience joint noises in the jaw and pain in the facial muscles and/or in the area in front of the ear.
It may be difficult to open the mouth properly without effort or pain, and in some cases other symptoms are also present, such as headache or neuralgia.
In our outpatient clinic, we provide prevention, diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders with cognitive-behavioural techniques, use of occlusal splints, physiotherapy and botulinum toxin therapy.
